Tracy Cooper-Posey's books have a way of drawing me in and getting me invested in her characters from the beginning. This book was no exception. Between Lindsay's hidden issues and Luke's charm, I was hooked from the start.At first glance, Lindsay is one of those too-tightly wound executives that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Only... she's not really. Everything she's doing, she's doing to to prove something to someone who isn't around to appreciate it. As her secrets are revealed, we get to see more of the lonely woman underneath who's so caught up in her plan she's no longer enjoying life.
Luke, on the other hand, seems like he's all surface, no depth. Again, it's not until he begins letting Lindsay in that we see some of what's driving him. Honestly, his horror at what he unwittingly did to Lindsay's career was one of those ah-ha moments for me. The guy has a lot going on under his quips and jokes. A lot.
Highly enjoyable with plenty of steamy kisses and sexy times. Luke and Lindsay look like they'd be miles apart as a couple, but they worked very nicely once they figured things out. It just took a while to get to that point.

Tracy always writes well with realistic characters and very real problems.Sticking a child with the name Lucifer is sure to give a child a bit of of an insecurity complex,and falling for an overachiever doesn't't help.
I am not saying I didn't enjoy this novel but compared to Tracey Cooper-Posey's other novels it wasn't as good as the others. Chains Across Time, offered free, is one of her best although it is a paranormal romance novel. The romance in this novel is rather lacking. I guess I am use to her other novels that poured with sensual romance. Good but not a huge romantic novel that hooked me.
What a wonderful story! Love that they were people that weren't perfect, how they met and overcame their challenges. And it's a steamy romance too!
Great escape! Just make sure you have the free time, you won't want to put it down.
Lindsay is Luke's boss but he doesn't respect her and she doesn't like him because of it. What she doesn't realize is that there is so much more to him than she sees. Luke has a lot of secrets and one of them is that he likes and hates Lindsay. Can these two get along?? I liked this story but wish there had been just a little bit more to it.
I felt like throughout the whole book it was a "yes/no" battle with the characters. Lies upon lies and Lindsay falls for them and accepts them, yes with a fight but still accepts them. It was a nice story. I would have liked to see her go into a field more suited for her after what Doug did or for Luke to back her up more. I give this book a solid 3 because I would have liked to see more.
Don't let the name and cover fool you; this is a true love story with it's up's and downs. Two people who won't accept their true feelings till they learn the truth about themselves and finally see what actually makes them tick. Tracy has woven a tale of misunderstandings, confusion, great sex, and two people who finally realize they belong together. Twelve Cooper-Posey books read 13th coming up.
Pick up any of her books and you won't be disappointed.
This book is not your typical romance. It is not an h meets H and live happily ever after. The scenarios are gritty, the characters quite flawed, and everything about the plot is quite believable.
That is the good stuff. I really would like to say that this was a 5 star book, but the poor editing, phrasing, and choppy flow are bad enough to make me stumble and question what i had just read. Flipping back to reread paragraphs a full page back was quite off putting. The conversations between the H/h often left me more confused than informed.

when L went to see Luke...I thought she was telling him she could never make it work but that she wanted him to come back anyway?! Then I started to think she was saying he couldn' t make it work and and she needed time to decide if she even wanted him to try. And thru this whole conversation, he says almost nothing to help explain anything.
Finally...what lies? H keeps going about all the lies he told her, but the best part of this book is the brutal way they fling truths at each other. Yes, he is secretive, but what little he does say is honest.
My best advice for the author post a re-edited version. I would love to put a revised book in my favs collection.
